Bluetree
Worship. Rock. Techno(logy).
Three words that don’t seem to fit very easily into the same sentence. Its just as well we aren’t confined to sentences. The music of Bluetree is an experience.
Hailing from Northern Ireland, Bluetree are a dynamic six-piece band with only one simple vision; to lead God’s people in worship. Coming from Christian Fellowship Church in Belfast City, the guys have learnt from, and been encouraged by, world-renown artists such as Robin Mark, Marie Lacey and Johnny Parks. It was in this setting that Bluetree honed their skills and abilities and also gained a desire to strive for excellence in their songs and music.
After three years together Bluetree have now stepped out onto the international stage with the launch of their sensational debut album “Greater Things”. Recorded in the stunning Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin and produced by the gifted Paul Mills, God has already used the songs to influence the global worship scene. God of this City, a song that was birthed in the dark city of Pattaya, Thailand, has received international acclaim from Christian artists and industry members; Chris Tomlin has covered the song and this version is now the title track of the 2008 Passion album.
The Bluetree experience may well be loud, bold and energetic. It may also be soft and so quiet you can hear the heart beat of the person beside you. You may be blown away by the powerful thud of the kick drum or the hypnotic wail of the electric guitars. However, if this is all you experience then your time with them may very well have been wasted.
Through all the noises and beats, all the melodies and harmonies, Bluetree want you to experience the overwhelming presence of God. Forget about the lights, the stage and the hundreds of people around you. Forget the sound system that is assaulting your body with so much bass you feel like your being punched in the chest. Bluetree invite you to lose yourself in worship, worship of the Almighty. Join with them as they seek first His Kingdom.
